The Frederyk Chopin Mercure Hotel is a modern, purpose-built property, with an intricately shaped glass and pale stone façade. The spacious lobby is flooded with natural light, thanks to huge windows overlooking the street. It is brightly appointed, with a long pale wood reception desk, an open-plan, split-level seating area, a sweeping staircase and a bar/coffee shop. There’s also a large portrait of Chopin hanging above the reception desk. The 249 compact guestrooms are decorated in warm, rich tones, complemented by patterned bedding and curtains. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. There are two restaurants in the hotel: “Mme Walewska,” which serves Café-style cuisine and the Brasserie-style “Le Stanislas,” which offers more international dishes. Both are located on the ground floor. There’s also a bar called “L’Arpege.”
