This hotel tries unsuccessfully to rest on its famous laurels. It is in need of a make-over, with decor looking tired, bedspreads stained etc. The staff are not enthusiastic and the management rely on ridiculously elaborate Meridien greeting packs and menus to try and give a sense of premium service. When I asked for a glass of house red at dinner the waiter offered me a basic merlot and tried to charge me 38pln for a small glass, more than the cost of my main course. The mistake was grudgingly rectified. One gets the sense that this type of sharp practice is encouraged. I go to Warsaw alot on business and I won't be going to the Bristol again. It is the same with the likes of the Marriott - the management are lazy and assume the right to over-charge because they have a famous brand. Warsaw has much more to offer nowadays on the hotel front.
Top Tip
Stay at one of the newly refurbished hotels, such as the Polonia Palace which is fantastic - great food (dinner and breakfast), great service and nicer rooms.

Our fortunate stay at The Bristol was more like a travel back to the fine times before the war that I've only read about. Inspite of the modest price we paid through your site, my wife and I were treated like honoured guests. I cannot recomend it highly enough.
Top Tip
when not eating at the Bristol go to Belvedere in the park, on a Sunday there is an open air Chopin concert. Wander the Old Town and the many palaces
